One Question Changed Everything.

Kindred Motion wasn't born from a single moment. It grew quietly through a lifetime of them. Growing up in the Philippines, life happened in the open. Across from our home was a park where neighbors gathered, children played, and laughter filled the air. Life wasn't always easy. But in that park, something changed. For a little while, the weight of everyday struggles seemed lighter. We weren't defined by what we had or didn't have. We were simply people playing, laughing, sharing, and belonging. I didn't have words for it then. I only knew how it felt. Years later, after moving to the United States and raising a family of my own, I kept finding that feeling again. Creating beside my daughter. Watching my children discover what they could do. Cheering from the sidelines. Standing shoulder to shoulder with other parents. Encouraging one another through ordinary moments that somehow became meaningful ones. ​ I started to see that JOY wasn’t something distant. It showed up in the moments we created together. Life also showed me another side of that lesson. During visits to the Philippines, I saw friends carrying burdens that made even simple things difficult. One friend, a single mother, struggled to provide school supplies for her children. So I shared what I could: books, paper, supplies, even time to play volleyball. They were small things.  But I saw what happened when they were shared. A burden became a little lighter. A child had a chance to simply be a child. To play. To create. To breathe. To smile. And somewhere between those childhood memories, my own family's experiences, and these small acts of sharing, a deeper belief began to take shape: What we carry within us can become meaningful in someone else's life. A talent. A skill. Creativity. Knowledge. Encouragement. Time. Care. We don't have to change the whole world by ourselves. Sometimes we simply need a place to share what we already carry. Kindred Motion grew from that possibility.
